Physiotherapy Services in Burnham-on-Sea
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Burnham-on-Sea premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Burnham-on-Sea is a seaside town on the Somerset coast, where the River Parrett meets the Bristol Channel. Its best-known landmark is the low lighthouse, a white wooden tower standing on nine legs on the beach, built in 1832. The town’s concrete pier is often said to be the shortest in Britain.
The Esplanade runs along a sea wall above the sands, giving a long, level walk with benches and shelters. The tide here goes out a very long way, revealing dangerous mudflats, so walks stick to the beach near the sea wall or the promenade itself. Berrow and Brean, to the north, have high dunes and a long stretch of sand.
Burnham and neighbouring Highbridge are mostly flat, with Victorian terraces near the centre, large estates of bungalows and post-war semis, and many park homes. Apex Park, on the edge of Highbridge, has a lake and wide paths, while Highbridge and Burnham station gives trains towards Bristol and Taunton.
NHS Somerset, the integrated care board, plans health services here. Many patients go to Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton or Weston General, with some services at Burnham-on-Sea War Memorial Hospital. Our private home physiotherapy follows on after discharge.
Burnham is popular with retired people, so goals often include walking on the Esplanade, getting into town for the shops on the High Street or getting in and out of a park home safely. The flat streets help, but steps into some older houses and park homes still need practice.

Specialist care for women through pregnancy, after birth and beyond.

Reducing the risk of falls and improving safe, confident movement at home and in the community.
