Physiotherapy Services in Chichester
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Chichester premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Chichester is a small cathedral city in West Sussex, with Roman origins and a medieval street plan. North, South, East and West Streets meet at the Market Cross, and most of the centre is pedestrianised and level. The cathedral, whose spire is visible across the coastal plain, sits on West Street, and the Bishop's Palace Gardens beside it are a quiet place for a first outdoor walk.
Much of the old city wall survives, and a walk along it gives a clear, measurable goal, although some sections include steps. Priory Park, inside the walls, has flat paths and benches. Outside the centre, Summersdale and Parklands have interwar and post-war family homes, Whyke and Donnington have newer estates, and the redeveloped Graylingwell site to the north mixes converted buildings with new houses.
The city has an older population, and many people we see live in bungalows or retirement flats. Chichester Harbour, to the west, has level paths around Dell Quay and Bosham, and the canal towpath from the basin is also flat. Chichester Festival Theatre is another favourite goal. Chichester station is on the coast line between Brighton, Portsmouth and Southampton.
St Richard's Hospital in the city, part of University Hospitals Sussex, provides acute and emergency care, so many local people come home from there after an operation or a fall. NHS services are planned by the Sussex Integrated Care Board. We are an independent home-visit service, so share any precautions and exercises from the hospital and we will carry them on.
