Clayton-le-Moors is a small town in Hyndburn, East Lancashire, sitting just north of Accrington beside junction 7 of the M65. It grew around cotton mills, brickworks and the Leeds and Liverpool Canal, and many families have lived here for generations.
Whalley Road runs through the middle of the town and holds most of the shops, takeaways and the library. Walking along it to buy a paper or collect a prescription is often one of the first things our clients want to do again.
The canal curves around the town on its way between Burnley and Blackburn, and the towpath gives a long, level route. We use it for building walking stamina once people feel steady on their feet.
Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital is the main hospital for the area, with Accrington Victoria providing minor injury and outpatient services. Our home visits follow on from either, focusing on independence in your own surroundings.
Dunkenhalgh, an old estate now home to a hotel, lies on the southern edge, while Altham sits along the River Calder to the north. Both offer quieter lanes for people who prefer to walk away from traffic.
Most homes are stone or brick terraces, often with steep stairs and a step down into the back yard. We check these carefully and suggest small changes that make daily movement safer.
Mercer Park, in the centre of town, has flat paths, gardens and seats, ideal for early outdoor practice.

Reducing the risk of falls and improving safe, confident movement at home and in the community.

Assessment and treatment of the pelvic floor to support bladder, bowel and core function.

Supporting people living with or recovering from cancer to rebuild strength and quality of life.
