Physiotherapy Services in Cockenzie and Port Seton
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Cockenzie and Port Seton premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Cockenzie and Port Seton are twin fishing villages on the Firth of Forth, each with its own harbour. Seton Sands caravan park lies to the east, and the site of the old power station is being redeveloped.
The streets near the harbours are flat and close together. A walk from Cockenzie harbour to Port Seton harbour is a clear early goal with views across to Fife.
The John Muir Way follows the coast here. The section east towards Longniddry Bents is level and well surfaced, with sea views and benches, making it ideal for adding a few more minutes each week.
Seton Collegiate Church, a medieval church with gardens, sits just east of the villages. Its grounds give a quiet, short walk.
The area is covered by NHS Lothian. Most surgery is done at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, and East Lothian Community Hospital in Haddington provides further care.
Homes include fishermen's cottages with outside stairs, former council houses and modern estates. We adapt exercises to your stairs and garden steps.
Strong sea winds can make the coast path hard work, so there is always an indoor version of each session.
The Port Seton Harbour festival and the annual Boat Show celebrate the fishing heritage, and the community centre on Gosford Road hosts clubs and classes. Gosford House, a grand estate east of the villages, is visible from the coast road, while Longniddry Bents has car parks and grassy dunes for sea views. Buses run frequently towards Edinburgh and Musselburgh along the coast, so practising the bus step and standing on a moving bus is often part of our plan.
