Physiotherapy Services in Colne
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Colne premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Colne is an old market town in Pendle, built along a ridge in the foothills of the Pennines. Wallace Hartley, the bandmaster who played as the Titanic sank, came from Colne, and a memorial to him stands in the town centre. Colne is also known for hosting the Great British Rhythm and Blues Festival each summer.
The main street runs along the top of the ridge, with steep side streets dropping away on both sides. Stone terraces dominate, many with steep stairs inside and steps outside, while newer estates in Primet and Vivary Bridge are more level.
Colne station is the terminus of the East Lancashire line, with trains to Burnley, Blackburn and Preston, and buses run to Nelson and Skipton. The Leeds and Liverpool Canal passes nearby at Foulridge, where the towpath and reservoirs offer level walks.
Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care Board plans NHS services, with Royal Blackburn and Burnley General the main hospitals. Our private home physiotherapy continues recovery once people are home.
Many patients are older residents who worked in textile mills or local trades. We focus on the steep streets and stairs they face every day, building strength and confidence gradually.
The Muni, a former church on Albert Road that is now a theatre and concert venue, anchors the town’s social life, and the indoor market and the shops on Albert Road and Market Street handle most everyday errands. Being able to walk to them, rather than relying on lifts from relatives, is a goal we hear constantly.

Reducing the risk of falls and improving safe, confident movement at home and in the community.

Assessment and treatment of the pelvic floor to support bladder, bowel and core function.

Supporting people living with or recovering from cancer to rebuild strength and quality of life.
