Physiotherapy Services in Corbridge
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Corbridge premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Corbridge is a historic village-town in the Tyne valley, east of Hexham. Its seventeenth-century bridge was the only Tyne crossing to survive the great flood of 1771.
Market Place and Front Street are compact, with independent shops, cafes and the Vicar's Pele, a medieval tower house. A walk from the bridge to Market Place is a gentle first goal.
The Roman site of Coria, run by English Heritage, lies just west of the village, and its grassy paths are fairly level. It is a pleasant target for longer outings.
Riverside walks along the Tyne are pleasant but can be muddy and uneven. They suit later stages of recovery.
Corbridge is served by Northumbria Healthcare. Many planned orthopaedic operations take place at Hexham General Hospital, and emergency care is at the Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital in Cramlington.
Homes include stone cottages with steep stairs, larger houses on the hillside and newer estates. We build each plan around your home.
Indoor sessions are always included for wet Northumbrian days.
Corbridge hosts a well-known Christmas market and a summer festival, and the Angel Inn on Main Street is an old coaching inn. Dilston Castle and the Devil's Water burn are a short walk south across the bridge, and Aydon Castle, a fortified manor house run by English Heritage, sits in the countryside to the north. Trains on the Tyne Valley line stop at Corbridge station, south of the river, so practising platform steps can make trips to Newcastle or Hexham possible again. Many homes are on hilly lanes, and the village is popular with walkers heading to Hadrian's Wall. Local shops include a butcher, delis and a pharmacy, which make useful goals for independent outings.

Reducing the risk of falls and improving safe, confident movement at home and in the community.

Assessment and treatment of the pelvic floor to support bladder, bowel and core function.

Supporting people living with or recovering from cancer to rebuild strength and quality of life.
