Physiotherapy Services in Cotgrave
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Cotgrave premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Cotgrave lies south east of Nottingham in the Rushcliffe district, on the edge of the Nottinghamshire Wolds. An ancient farming village, it expanded rapidly when the colliery opened in 1964.
The mine, one of the newest in the coalfield, closed in 1993, and its spoil heaps and sidings have become Cotgrave Country Park, with lakes, woodland and level paths beside the Grantham Canal.
All Saints Church, with its spire and medieval fabric, stands in the old village at the heart of the town. An Anglo Saxon burial ground was discovered nearby.
Queen's Medical Centre and Nottingham City Hospital carry out most surgery for Cotgrave residents. Once you are discharged, we visit at home to continue rehabilitation.
The town centre precinct has been redeveloped with new shops, a health centre and a library. Restoring a walk there is a common goal for patients.
Much of the housing was built in the 1960s and 70s for mining families, with semis, terraces and bungalows. Many have short flights of stairs or steps to the front door.
The Grantham Canal towpath, partly restored by volunteers, runs north west towards the Trent and east towards Cropwell Bishop, giving quiet and level walks.
Plumtree, Tollerton and Normanton on the Wolds are smaller villages nearby, and Tollerton has a small airfield used by light aircraft.
Bus links connect Cotgrave with Nottingham, but there is no railway station, so home visits help those whose mobility is limited after illness or surgery.

Helping older adults maintain mobility, strength and independence safely at home.

Safe, structured recovery after surgery to restore strength, mobility and function at home.

Expert assessment and treatment of muscle, joint, bone and soft tissue (MSK) conditions at home.
