Physiotherapy Services in Donaghadee
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Donaghadee premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Donaghadee is a harbour town on the north-east coast of the Ards Peninsula in County Down. Its stone harbour and lighthouse face across the North Channel towards Scotland, and on clear days the Scottish coast is visible.
Grace Neill's, on the High Street, claims to be one of the oldest pubs in Ireland. The Moat, a Norman earthwork topped by a castellated folly tower, stands in Moat Park above the town, offering views over the Copeland Islands.
The coastal path runs north towards Groomsport and Bangor, with mostly level sections along the shore. Ballycopeland Windmill, near Millisle, is one of the last working windmills in Northern Ireland.
Homes include Georgian and Victorian terraces near the harbour, bungalows, and newer estates on the edges of town. Many houses near the seafront have steps or steep lanes leading to them.
Donaghadee is covered by the South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust. People are usually treated at the Ulster Hospital in Dundonald or Ards Community Hospital in Newtownards, and we continue their rehabilitation privately at home.
There is no railway station, but buses link Donaghadee with Bangor and Newtownards. Common goals include walking round the harbour, climbing to Moat Park or getting back onto the coastal path.
The harbour walk is level and has places to stop, which makes it a good first outdoor route after an operation or a fall.
The climb to the Moat is steep, so we treat it as a later target once leg strength and stamina have improved.

Assessment and treatment of the pelvic floor to support bladder, bowel and core function.

Supporting people living with or recovering from cancer to rebuild strength and quality of life.

Personalised, evidence-based nutrition and dietetic support delivered in the comfort of your home by an HCPC-registered dietitian.
