We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Ferndown premises to walk into. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Ferndown is a town in east Dorset, just north of Bournemouth and Poole. It grew rapidly from a small heathland village in the twentieth century, and is now one of the largest towns in the county without a historic centre.
Penny's Walk and Victoria Road hold the main shops, and the Barrington Centre hosts theatre, clubs and events. Ferndown Common and Parley Common, areas of protected heathland, have sandy paths, heather and rare wildlife such as Dartford warblers and sand lizards.
Moors Valley Country Park lies just to the north, and the River Stour runs along the southern boundary at Longham. Ferndown Golf Club is one of the best-known in the region, and Dudsbury hillfort overlooks the river.
Housing includes bungalows, chalets, post-war estates and newer developments, with a very large retired population. Many homes have gardens and driveways that become part of rehabilitation planning.
NHS Dorset Integrated Care Board organises care, and most Ferndown patients are treated at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital or Poole Hospital. We continue rehabilitation at home.
Goals include shopping at Penny's Walk, walking on the heath or playing golf again.
Ferndown grew from heathland into one of Dorset's largest towns, and Ferndown Common still protects rare lowland heath where Dartford warblers and nightjars breed. Dudsbury hillfort, an Iron Age earthwork above the River Stour, recalls far older settlement. Ferndown Golf Club is a big part of local social life, and many retired members want to swing a club again after shoulder or back trouble. Pennys Walk shopping precinct, flat and compact, makes a practical first outing after surgery.

Reducing the risk of falls and improving safe, confident movement at home and in the community.

Assessment and treatment of the pelvic floor to support bladder, bowel and core function.

Supporting people living with or recovering from cancer to rebuild strength and quality of life.
