Physiotherapy Services in Forres
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Forres premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Forres is one of Scotland's oldest royal burghs, in the west of Moray, near the mouth of the River Findhorn. It appears in Shakespeare's Macbeth, and Sueno's Stone, a towering Pictish carved stone, stands on the eastern edge of town. Forres has won many awards in Scotland in Bloom, and its floral displays and parks are a source of local pride.
The High Street and the Tolbooth sit on a ridge, with the land falling away on either side. Older stone villas and terraces line the roads near the centre, while Mannachie, Thornhill and Pilmuir have post-war and modern estates, including many bungalows. RAF Kinloss, now Kinloss Barracks, lies nearby, and some families have service links.
Grant Park, with its formal gardens and topiary, is the town's showpiece and a natural goal for walking practice, and Cluny Hill, topped by the Nelson Tower, is a harder climb through woodland. Findhorn Bay and the village beyond offer flat coastal walking. Forres station, rebuilt in 2017, has trains to Inverness and Aberdeen.
NHS Grampian provides hospital care, with Dr Gray's Hospital in Elgin as the main acute site and Leanchoil Hospital in Forres providing some community services. Community rehabilitation is coordinated by the Moray Health and Social Care Partnership. We visit independently and support you at home.
Findhorn Bay is a tidal basin, and the shingle and sand around it are uneven, so we save it for later stages. The Benromach distillery and the old Mosset Burn, which runs through Grant Park, are familiar landmarks for local walks. The town's Saturday shoppers tend to cluster around the Tolbooth and Tytler Street, where the pavements are fairly level.
