Physiotherapy Services in Frinton-on-Sea
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Frinton-on-Sea premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Frinton-on-Sea was laid out as a genteel resort in the late nineteenth century, with wide tree-lined avenues and large houses behind a broad clifftop lawn. The famous level crossing gates still mark the entrance to the town centre.
The Greensward stretches along the cliff top above rows of colourful beach huts. Its grass and level paths make a wonderful place for early outdoor walking, with benches spaced regularly and sea views to keep spirits up.
The sloping paths down to the beach and the long promenade below give a natural progression. Climbing back up from the sand, sometimes into a stiff breeze, is an excellent test of leg strength once flat walking is comfortable.
Patients in Tendring are mainly treated at Colchester Hospital, with some follow-up at Clacton. Once you are discharged, home sessions continue the hospital plan and focus on the daily activities that matter in your own surroundings.
Many Frinton homes are spacious detached houses or bungalows, though some have steps at the front door or stairs to upper bedrooms. We assess each layout before setting goals so the plan fits the home rather than the other way round.
Connaught Avenue, sometimes called the Bond Street of East Anglia, holds independent shops and cafes. Walking its length unaided, crossing side roads and carrying a bag back home is a practical target for many residents.
Kirby Cross, Kirby-le-Soken, Great Holland and Thorpe-le-Soken are linked by country roads and a branch railway. Stepping on and off trains and returning to driving safely are milestones we often plan towards with clients.
Walton-on-the-Naze, just along the coast, has a pier, the Naze Tower and crumbling red cliffs. Walking the Naze trails on uneven ground and climbing the tower stairs make ambitious later goals for people with improving balance.
