Physiotherapy Services in Greenisland
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Greenisland premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Greenisland is a mainly residential town on the north shore of Belfast Lough, between Jordanstown and Carrickfergus in County Antrim. Much of it was built in the decades after the Second World War, climbing the hillside above the shore road.
The Knockagh, a steep escarpment above the town, is crowned by a tall war memorial obelisk visible across the lough. Walking up there is a challenge even for fit people, but the views make it a favourite long-term aim.
Streets rise steadily from the Shore Road towards the Knockagh, so many homes have sloping drives and steps to the front door. Leg strength and pacing are central for anyone recovering from illness or surgery here.
Greenisland is in the Mid and East Antrim council area and served by the Northern Health and Social Care Trust. Many patients attend Antrim Area Hospital or Whiteabbey Hospital, and some are treated in Belfast. Our private home visits can continue care after discharge.
The coastal path along Belfast Lough runs past the town towards Whiteabbey and Jordanstown, mostly level and paved. It is one of the best places for outdoor walking practice.
Greenisland station on the Larne line provides trains to Belfast and Carrickfergus. Getting to the platform and stepping on and off trains confidently can be an important goal.
Homes are mostly semis, detached houses and bungalows, with newer developments at Trooperslane. Large gardens on slopes are common, and many people want to get back to gardening.
