Physiotherapy Services in Harlow
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Harlow premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Harlow was designated as a new town in 1947 and planned by Sir Frederick Gibberd, who designed it as a series of neighbourhoods separated by green wedges of open space. It is known for its public sculpture collection, and the Water Gardens near the civic centre are one of its best-known landmarks.
Each neighbourhood has its own centre and housing from a particular era, from the 1950s terraces and flats of Netteswell and Great Parndon to the larger estates at Staple Tye and Potter Street, and newer homes at Church Langley and Newhall. Old Harlow, the original village, has older cottages and a small high street.
Harlow Town Park, one of the largest urban parks in the country, has level surfaced paths, a pets' corner and cafe, so it makes a natural goal. The town's network of separated footpaths and cycleways means many people can walk between neighbourhoods without crossing busy roads, which is helpful when rebuilding confidence.
The Princess Alexandra Hospital, run by The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust, provides most emergency and surgical care for Harlow residents. NHS services are planned by the Hertfordshire and West Essex Integrated Care Board. Our home physiotherapy is private and separate from the NHS, and we welcome any discharge paperwork you have.
Harlow Town and Harlow Mill stations have trains to London Liverpool Street and Cambridge, and the bus station sits in the town centre. People often tell us they want to manage the walk to their neighbourhood shops again, or cope with the subways and ramps that link parts of the town.
