Physiotherapy Services in Haverhill
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Haverhill premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Haverhill is in West Suffolk, close to the borders with Essex and Cambridgeshire. It was a small textile town, home to the Gurteen family’s Chauntry Mills, until it expanded rapidly from the 1950s onwards to take people moving out of London. The old Town Hall now houses the Haverhill Arts Centre, and the Anne of Cleves House on Hamlet Road recalls the town’s link with Henry VIII’s fourth wife.
Most housing dates from the post-war expansion, with large estates in Clements, Chalkstone and Westfield. Houses tend to be two-storey with a short path, while some older streets near the High Street have Victorian terraces. Newer homes on the edges often have more space for equipment and rehabilitation.
Haverhill lost its railway in the 1960s, so buses to Cambridge and Bury St Edmunds are important. East Town Park, a large green space with level paths, makes a good place for rebuilding confidence, and the Haverhill Railway Walks along the old line offer longer routes.
Suffolk and North East Essex Integrated Care Board plans local NHS services. Many residents are treated at Addenbrooke’s in Cambridge or West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds, and we can continue their recovery privately at home.
Common goals include getting back to the High Street, catching the bus to Cambridge or walking round East Town Park. We plan sessions around those activities, focusing on stairs, transfers and outdoor walking.

Assessment and treatment of the pelvic floor to support bladder, bowel and core function.

Supporting people living with or recovering from cancer to rebuild strength and quality of life.

Personalised, evidence-based nutrition and dietetic support delivered in the comfort of your home by an HCPC-registered dietitian.
