Physiotherapy Services in Hedon
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Hedon premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Hedon is a small market town in Holderness, a few minutes east of Hull. In the Middle Ages it was a busy port with its own havens linking it to the Humber, and it still holds the title of one of the oldest boroughs in Yorkshire.
The church of St Augustine, often called the King of Holderness, dominates the skyline with its tall central tower. Many of our patients live within sight of it, on the estates that have grown up around the medieval street plan.
Shops and cafés cluster along St Augustine's Gate, Souttergate and around Market Hill. Getting back to the post office, the pharmacy or the Thursday coffee morning is a goal we hear again and again from Hedon clients.
Hospital care for the area usually comes from Hull Royal Infirmary or Castle Hill Hospital in Cottingham, both run by Hull University Teaching Hospitals. After a fracture, joint replacement or stroke there, we can carry on rehabilitation privately in your own home.
The land around Hedon is low and flat, which makes outdoor walking a realistic early target. Wind off the estuary can be strong, though, so we think about clothing, rest points and the best time of day before heading out.
Villages such as Preston, Thorngumbald and Paull sit on quiet lanes, and Paull looks straight across the Humber towards Lincolnshire. Older residents there often rely on lifts from family, so rebuilding confidence getting in and out of a car can be part of the plan.
Hedon Racecourse once drew big crowds, and the town museum on Market Hill keeps its story alive alongside the history of the old havens.

Support to improve breathing, endurance and recovery for respiratory and cardiac conditions.

Helping people living with persistent or complex pain improve function and quality of life.

Specialist care for women through pregnancy, after birth and beyond.
