Physiotherapy Services in Helensburgh
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Helensburgh premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Helensburgh is a planned Georgian town in Argyll and Bute, on the north shore of the Firth of Clyde at the mouth of the Gare Loch. It was laid out in the 1770s on a grid, with wide, tree-lined streets rising steeply from the shore. The Hill House, designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh for the publisher Walter Blackie, stands at the top of the town, protected by a striking mesh box.
The seafront esplanade is flat and wide, with views across the Clyde to Greenock, and Colquhoun Square holds the main shops. Hermitage Park, recently restored, has level paths and gardens. Away from the shore, however, many streets are steep, which can make getting around difficult.
Housing includes grand Victorian villas, sandstone tenements and flats, and post-war estates at Colgrain and Churchill. HM Naval Base Clyde at Faslane is nearby, so many families have Royal Navy connections. Many older residents want to stay in their large homes despite the stairs.
NHS Highland plans health services in Argyll and Bute, working with Argyll and Bute Health and Social Care Partnership, but Helensburgh patients are generally treated at the Vale of Leven Hospital in Alexandria or the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley. Our private home physiotherapy continues their recovery.
Helensburgh Central and Helensburgh Upper stations link the town to Glasgow and the West Highland Line. Popular aims among our patients include walking the esplanade, managing the hill up to the shops or catching the train to Glasgow.

Rehabilitation of bones, joints, muscles and ligaments following injury, surgery or degenerative change.

Support to improve breathing, endurance and recovery for respiratory and cardiac conditions.

Helping people living with persistent or complex pain improve function and quality of life.
