We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Hessle premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Hessle is a town in the East Riding of Yorkshire on the north bank of the Humber, just west of Hull. The northern tower of the Humber Bridge rises above the town, and for many residents the bridge is the defining view from their windows.
Humber Bridge Country Park, created in a former chalk quarry, has woodland trails, a small lake and a wildflower meadow. Down on the Foreshore, a broad level path runs beside the estuary past the old Cliff Mill, a tall restored windmill.
Hessle Square, with All Saints Church and its prominent spire, forms the centre, surrounded by independent shops, pubs and cafés. The Trans Pennine Trail also passes through on its way west along the river.
Housing ranges from Victorian villas near the Square to inter-war semis, post-war estates and modern homes near the railway. Bungalows are common in Anlaby and the western streets.
NHS Humber and North Yorkshire Integrated Care Board commissions local services. Hessle patients are usually treated at Hull Royal Infirmary or Castle Hill Hospital in Cottingham, and our private physiotherapy continues at home after discharge.
Hessle station has trains to Hull, Selby and Leeds, and buses run frequently into Hull. Common goals include walking to the Square, along the Foreshore or out onto the bridge walkway.
Hessle Town Hall, the Saturday market in the Square and the Boothferry estate shops are other regular stops, and the Country Park visitor area gives seating and level paths for early outdoor walks.
