Physiotherapy Services in Huddersfield
Home Physio And Rehab is based in Harrow, north-west London, and has no clinic or office in Huddersfield. Every appointment is a home visit, and the physiotherapist who visits you may be based elsewhere and travel to your home. Whether we can see you depends on your postcode and on therapist availability at the time you ask.
Huddersfield is a large West Yorkshire town with a grand Victorian centre and suburbs climbing the surrounding hills. Stone-built terraces are common in Birkby, Fartown, Marsh and Crosland Moor, many with steep internal stairs and steps to the front door, while Lindley and Edgerton have larger Victorian and Edwardian houses and Almondbury and Dalton have a mix of older cottages and post-war estates.
The town centre itself is relatively compact, but almost every route out of it climbs. Greenhead Park, close to the centre, has well-kept paths and benches that are useful for building walking stamina, and Beaumont Park and the canal towpaths offer other options. We plan sessions around the hills and steps you face day to day before progressing to longer walks and bus journeys.
Huddersfield Royal Infirmary is the main hospital in the town. We are independent of it and of the NHS, and your records are not sent to us automatically, so please have your discharge letter and any exercise sheets ready when we first speak.
Huddersfield railway station, with its classical frontage on St George's Square, is often the starting point for trips to Leeds or Manchester, and its platforms and footbridge are worth practising if travel is a goal. The town is home to a large university, the John Smith's Stadium, where both the football and rugby league clubs play, and a busy market. Castle Hill, with the Victoria Tower on top, is a landmark visible from much of the town and a serious long-term walking challenge. The Colne valley villages, including Slaithwaite and Marsden, lie along the Huddersfield Narrow Canal, whose towpath is mostly level.
