Physiotherapy Services in Inveraray
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Inveraray premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Inveraray, Inbhir Aora in Gaelic, is an 18th-century planned town on the western shore of Loch Fyne. Its whitewashed Georgian frontages along Front Street are among the most photographed in Argyll.
The town was rebuilt by the Dukes of Argyll when Inveraray Castle was remodelled, and the castle remains the family seat. Its gardens have gravel walks that suit middle-stage outdoor practice in dry weather.
Main Street and Front Street are compact and mostly level, with the pier at one end. A short walk from home to the pier and back is a realistic early target once people are steady with a stick.
Inveraray Jail, now a museum, has narrow stone stairs and uneven floors. For visitors and volunteers alike it is a good example of the old buildings where we look closely at steps and handholds.
Duniquaich, the wooded hill above the castle, is crowned by a small watchtower. The path up is steep and rooty, so it belongs to the final stages of rehabilitation for people who loved hill walking.
Mid Argyll Community Hospital in Lochgilphead provides much local care, while planned orthopaedic surgery usually takes place in Glasgow or at the Lorn and Islands Hospital in Oban.
Because the town is remote, availability depends on therapist travel. Please enter your postcode so we can tell you honestly whether a home visit can be arranged and how often.
Furnace, to the south, grew around an 18th-century iron furnace and later granite quarrying. Homes there often sit on sloping ground by the loch, with outside steps that we include in early practice.
Cairndow, at the head of Loch Fyne, is a scattered settlement by the A83. Many households rely on cars for everything, so safe transfers in and out of the car are usually an early goal.

Safe, structured recovery after surgery to restore strength, mobility and function at home.

Expert assessment and treatment of muscle, joint, bone and soft tissue (MSK) conditions at home.

Helping active people recover from sports injuries and safely return to sport and performance.
