Physiotherapy Services in Langport
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Langport premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Langport is a small town on the River Parrett at the edge of the Somerset Levels. It was once a busy inland port, and Bow Street still has old warehouses and merchants' houses.
The Hanging Chapel, built over an archway on the hill above the town, is a striking medieval landmark. The lane up to it is steep, giving good slope practice for later rehabilitation.
The economist Walter Bagehot was born here, and local people remain proud of him. Bow Street and Cheapside form a compact, fairly level centre for early walking goals.
Huish Episcopi, merged with Langport on the east, has one of the finest church towers in Somerset. Walking from home to the church is a practical early target for many residents.
Musgrove Park in Taunton and Yeovil District Hospital handle most planned surgery for the area. We continue strengthening and walking work at home after discharge.
The Parrett Trail follows the river through the town and across the Levels. Its flat riverbank sections are good for stamina, though they can be muddy and exposed in winter.
Muchelney, just south, has the remains of a great abbey and a small medieval priest's house. The flat road out to it is a popular stamina walk on dry days.
Curry Rivel and Drayton lie west of the town on higher ground. Homes there may have sloping gardens and steps, which we include in outdoor practice.
Some homes in Langport and the surrounding villages lie in areas that flood in wet winters. We help people plan safe routes and manage steps when access is disrupted.

Specialist home-based rehabilitation to improve movement, strength, balance and independence for people living with neurological conditions.

Helping older adults maintain mobility, strength and independence safely at home.

Safe, structured recovery after surgery to restore strength, mobility and function at home.
