Physiotherapy Services in Larne
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Larne premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Larne is a port town on the east coast of County Antrim, at the southern end of the Causeway Coastal Route and the gateway to the Glens of Antrim. Ferries sail from the harbour to Scotland, and the Chaine Memorial Tower, a tall round tower at the harbour entrance, is a local landmark. The town centre along Main Street sits on gently sloping ground above Larne Lough.
Housing in Larne includes Victorian terraces near the centre, post-war estates such as Antiville and Craigyhill, and newer developments and bungalows on the edges. Front doorsteps and steep stairs are typical of Larne's older housing. We look at your home and the route you use and plan practice around them.
The promenade from the town park to the Chaine Tower gives level walking with views across to the Scottish coast, and Carnfunnock Country Park, to the north, has woodland and gardens for longer walks. Main Street and the shopping area are the usual places for errands. Larne Town and Larne Harbour stations have trains to Belfast.
Hospital care is provided by the Northern Health and Social Care Trust, with Antrim Area Hospital as the main acute site. Community rehabilitation is arranged through the same trust. Our home physiotherapy is a private service, and we can work alongside your community team.
The coast road north from Larne, built in the 1830s, hugs the cliffs and opens up the nine Glens of Antrim, so a drive to Glenarm or Carnlough is a popular reward once longer car journeys are comfortable again. Islandmagee, the peninsula across the lough, is reached by road through Ballycarry or a short ferry crossing. Seasonal storms off the North Channel can make the promenade exposed, so sheltered routes through the town park are a good alternative.
