Physiotherapy Services in Llanfairfechan
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Llanfairfechan premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Llanfairfechan sits between the mountains and the sea on the north Wales coast. Its upper village climbs into the foothills of the Carneddau, while the lower part runs down to the shore.
The promenade is flat and wide, with a boating pool, cafe and benches. Walking along it with views over Traeth Lafan is one of the best early outdoor goals in the area.
Nant y Coed is a wooded valley with a nature trail, stepping stones and footbridges. Its paths are uneven and steep in places, so we treat it as a later target.
Traeth Lafan, the wide sands between Llanfairfechan and Bangor, is a nature reserve. Walking on sand is hard work, so we build strength first before trying it.
Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor and Glan Clwyd in Bodelwyddan provide most surgery for the coast. Once you are home, we continue the exercises started there.
Housing ranges from Victorian villas with high front steps to bungalows near the shore. We adapt sessions to each home, focusing on stairs, bathrooms and entrances.
The upper village has steep roads and terraces built into the hillside. Walking uphill back to the house is often the hardest part, so we practise it gradually.
Penmaenmawr and Dwygyfylchi lie to the east along the coast. Their shopfronts and promenade give extra places to practise once confidence improves.
Abergwyngregyn, to the west, is the gateway to Aber Falls. The walk to the falls is a long-term goal for many active patients, and we plan towards it carefully.
