Physiotherapy Services in Mere
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Mere premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Mere is a small town in the far south west of Wiltshire, close to where the county meets Dorset and Somerset. The A303 now bypasses it, leaving a quiet centre of stone houses and old inns.
The clock tower in The Square marks the heart of town, with shops, a library and the museum close by. Level ground here gives a gentle first goal for walking out of your front door.
Castle Hill rises steeply behind the town, with the earthworks of a medieval castle and wide views over the Blackmore Vale. Its grassy climb is a satisfying target for the later stages of rehabilitation.
St Michael's Church, with its tall tower, stands on the south side of the centre. Gentle paths through the churchyard suit short walks, and attending services again is a common early ambition.
Salisbury District Hospital and Yeovil District Hospital handle the bulk of surgery for Mere residents. After you are back at home, our physiotherapist picks up the exercise plan and adapts it to your rooms.
Older houses in Water Street and Castle Street have steep staircases and steps down to gardens. We assess each one carefully and suggest rails or furniture changes that reduce the chance of a fall.
Stourhead, the National Trust garden just north, has a lake circuit with firm gravel paths. It is a favourite long-term outing, and we prepare stamina and slope skills to make it achievable.
Zeals lies to the west beside the old main road, and Kilmington and Stourton sit near the Stourhead estate. Most people in these villages drive, so getting in and out of the car is practised early.
East Knoyle, West Knoyle and Maiden Bradley are scattered downland villages with narrow roads. Limited pavements mean we plan outdoor walking with safety and visibility firmly in mind.

Reducing the risk of falls and improving safe, confident movement at home and in the community.

Assessment and treatment of the pelvic floor to support bladder, bowel and core function.

Supporting people living with or recovering from cancer to rebuild strength and quality of life.
