Physiotherapy Services in Morpeth
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Morpeth premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Morpeth is the county town of Northumberland, set in a loop of the River Wansbeck. Its Clock Tower, one of the few free-standing medieval-style bell towers in England, still sounds a curfew each evening, and the Chantry beside the river houses a museum of Northumbrian bagpipes. Admiral Collingwood, who took command at Trafalgar after Nelson’s death, lived in the town.
Carlisle Park, beside the river, has flower gardens, a paddling pool and the William Turner Garden, named after the Tudor botanist born in Morpeth. The suffragette Emily Wilding Davison is buried at St Mary’s Church, and her grave draws visitors each June. Riverside paths run along both banks and are mostly level, though some can flood.
In 2008 the Wansbeck burst its banks and flooded hundreds of homes, leading to major flood defences. The town centre, around Bridge Street, Newgate Street and Oldgate, is compact and fairly flat, while newer estates at Stobhill, Loansdean and Lancaster Park sit on gentle hills. Morpeth station on the East Coast Main Line has trains to Newcastle and Edinburgh.
North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care Board plans NHS services, with emergencies going to the Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital at Cramlington and much planned care at Wansbeck General in Ashington. We provide independent physiotherapy at home after discharge.
The Morpeth Northumbrian Gathering each spring, the weekly market and the riverside cafés are all popular goals. Many older residents live in stone cottages or Victorian terraces with narrow stairs, so stair practice is often part of the plan.

Specialist home-based rehabilitation to improve movement, strength, balance and independence for people living with neurological conditions.

Helping older adults maintain mobility, strength and independence safely at home.

Safe, structured recovery after surgery to restore strength, mobility and function at home.
