Physiotherapy Services in Much Wenlock
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Much Wenlock premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Much Wenlock is a small Shropshire town of timber-framed buildings at the northern end of Wenlock Edge. It is known as the birthplace of the Wenlock Olympian Games, begun by William Penny Brookes.
The black-and-white Guildhall and the High Street form the heart of the town. Pavements here are narrow in places, so we practise passing other people and stepping on and off kerbs.
The ruins of Wenlock Priory stand in quiet grounds a short walk from the centre. Its grass and gravel paths are a gentle introduction to walking on surfaces other than tarmac.
Linden Field, where the Olympian Games are still held, is open and mostly level. Laps of the field are a pleasant way to build endurance during the middle part of recovery.
Planned operations for people here usually take place at the Princess Royal Hospital in Telford or the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital. We carry the rehabilitation on once you are home.
Listed cottages often have low beams, uneven floors and winding stairs. On the first visit we look at how you move between rooms and whether simple equipment would help.
Wenlock Edge, a long wooded limestone escarpment, runs south west from the town. Its paths are rocky and steep in places, which makes a short stretch a satisfying goal for active walkers.
Homer lies just north of the town, while Bourton, Presthope and Easthope are scattered along the Edge. Hilly roads and farm tracks there call for strong legs and good balance.
Atterley and Barrow are small settlements towards Broseley and Ironbridge. With limited public transport, practising car transfers is often a priority for residents.

Helping people living with persistent or complex pain improve function and quality of life.

Specialist care for women through pregnancy, after birth and beyond.

Reducing the risk of falls and improving safe, confident movement at home and in the community.
