Physiotherapy Services in Nailsea
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Nailsea premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Nailsea, in North Somerset, was once a small coal-mining village known for its glassworks, founded in 1788. Nailsea glass, especially the colourful flecked and striped pieces made by the workers in their own time, is still collected today. Mining and glassmaking had ended by the late nineteenth century, and the town grew most quickly in the 1960s and 1970s as a commuter base for Bristol.
That growth means much of Nailsea is post-war housing, with many semis, bungalows and short terraces built around a pedestrianised centre at Crown Glass Place. The town sits on a low ridge above the flat Nailsea Moor, where footpaths follow drainage rhynes across the fields towards Tickenham and Kenn.
Tyntesfield, the Victorian Gothic estate run by the National Trust, lies just beyond Wraxall and has accessible paths around the house and gardens. Nailsea and Backwell station gives trains into Bristol Temple Meads and Weston-super-Mare, though the climb to the platforms has long been a worry for some passengers.
Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire Integrated Care Board is responsible for NHS planning here, and most people are treated at Southmead Hospital or Bristol Royal Infirmary, with some services at Weston General. Our private physiotherapy at home follows on after discharge.
Typical aims include walking to Crown Glass Place, getting to the station or a church on the edge of town, and visiting Tyntesfield with family. Many homes have a single flight of stairs, and some streets slope steeply off the ridge, so we practise both.
