Physiotherapy Services in Padstow
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Padstow premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Padstow is a working fishing port on the west bank of the Camel Estuary in north Cornwall. Its harbour is surrounded by slate-roofed buildings, shops and restaurants.
The streets leading up from the harbour are narrow and steep, and they get very busy in summer. We often plan outdoor walks for quieter mornings or off-season months.
The Camel Trail starts at the harbour and follows the old railway to Wadebridge. It is flat, smooth and traffic-free, making it a superb route for building stamina.
Prideaux Place, an Elizabethan manor house above the town, has a deer park visible from the road. The climb to it is steady and useful for strengthening work.
Most operations for this part of Cornwall happen at the Royal Cornwall Hospital at Treliske in Truro. Once you are home, we visit you rather than you travelling back.
May Day brings the Obby Oss festival, when the town fills with music and dancing. Some clients set a goal of being able to join in or watch from the streets.
The Black Tor ferry crosses the estuary to Rock. Stepping on and off the boat needs good balance, which we can practise with targeted exercises.
St Merryn, Trevone and Harlyn lie to the west near the coast, with sandy beaches and coast path cliffs. Walking on sand is demanding, so we build up to it gradually.
Little Petherick and St Issey sit to the south along a creek of the estuary. Their roads are hilly and narrow, so walking routes there need careful choice.
