Physiotherapy Services in Partington
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Partington premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Partington is a small town on the western edge of Trafford, sitting on the south bank of the Manchester Ship Canal. It grew rapidly in the 1960s and 1970s as an overspill estate for Manchester, and most homes date from that era.
The town was once a busy coal port where barges loaded at the canal side, and later home to large petrochemical works at Carrington. Today it feels quieter, surrounded by mossland, fields and the canal.
Houses are largely post-war semis, terraces and low-rise flats, many with a few steps up to the door and compact bathrooms. Some flats have shared stairwells, so we check how people get in and out before planning anything else.
Partington falls under NHS Greater Manchester Integrated Care Board. Trafford General in Davyhulme and Wythenshawe Hospital are the nearest main hospitals, and our private home visits can continue rehabilitation after discharge from either.
The Trans Pennine Trail passes close by along the old railway line, giving a flat, traffic-free route for outdoor practice. Many patients like to walk a little further along it each week.
Warburton, with its toll bridge over the canal and old church, lies just to the west. The lanes around Carrington Moss have no pavements, so for those living out there we practise walking on verges and uneven ground.
Partington has no railway station, and most people rely on buses or lifts. Getting confidently in and out of a car or onto a bus is often an important part of being independent again.

Safe, structured recovery after surgery to restore strength, mobility and function at home.
