Physiotherapy Services in Pontypridd
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Pontypridd premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Pontypridd is a market town in Rhondda Cynon Taf, where the Rhondda valley meets the Taff. Its eighteenth-century Old Bridge, a single stone arch over the river, was once the longest of its kind in Europe. The town has strong links to the Welsh national anthem, which was written here, and the University of South Wales campus at Treforest brings many students.
Housing is mostly stone terraces built on the valley sides, with streets climbing steeply in Graig, Trallwng, Maesycoed and Pwllgwaun. Many homes have steps at the front, steep internal stairs and sometimes steps down to the back garden. Glyncoch and Cilfynydd, on the higher ground, have more post-war houses. Hills are almost unavoidable, so we often practise slopes early in a programme.
Ynysangharad War Memorial Park, beside the river, is level and has the Lido Ponty outdoor pool, gardens and wide paths, making it an ideal first outdoor goal. The Taff Trail runs through the town on a flat former railway line. Pontypridd station is a busy hub for valley trains to Cardiff, and the market and Taff Street are common first trips.
Health care is provided by Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board, the Local Health Board for the area. The Royal Glamorgan Hospital at Llantrisant is the main acute hospital, and Dewi Sant Hospital in the town offers some community services. We work independently of NHS Wales, so please share any precautions or exercises you were given and we will continue them at home.

Reducing the risk of falls and improving safe, confident movement at home and in the community.

Assessment and treatment of the pelvic floor to support bladder, bowel and core function.

Supporting people living with or recovering from cancer to rebuild strength and quality of life.
