Physiotherapy Services in Ringwood
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Ringwood premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Ringwood is a market town on the River Avon at the western edge of the New Forest in Hampshire. A market has been held here since medieval times, and the Wednesday stalls still fill the Market Place and the streets around the parish church.
The Bickerley, a large open common beside the town centre, slopes gently down to the Avon water meadows. The Castleman Trailway, built along a disused railway, runs westwards through the forest fringe towards Ashley Heath and the Moors Valley Country Park.
Ringwood Brewery has been producing ales on Christchurch Road since the late 1970s, and the High Street keeps many old brick and timber-framed buildings. The New Forest heathland begins just east of Poulner, with open views and grazing ponies.
Homes range from Georgian town houses and thatched cottages to post-war estates in Poulner and newer homes off Hightown Road. Many are bungalows, though town-centre homes often have steep, narrow staircases.
NHS Hampshire and Isle of Wight Integrated Care Board commissions local services. Ringwood residents are often treated at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital or Salisbury District Hospital, and we continue their rehabilitation privately once they return home.
There is no railway station, but the X3 bus links Ringwood with Bournemouth and Salisbury. Typical goals include walking to the Wednesday market, crossing the Bickerley or reaching the Castleman Trailway again.
The Castleman Trailway is firm and mostly level, so it suits building walking time after a hip or knee operation, with Moors Valley giving a natural destination for later sessions.
Paths across the open forest east of Poulner are sandy and uneven, which makes them useful later for balance practice once someone is confident on the town pavements.
