Physiotherapy Services in Slough
Slough is a town and unitary authority in east Berkshire, between Windsor to the south, Burnham and the Buckinghamshire villages to the north and west, and the edge of Greater London towards Heathrow and Colnbrook to the east. The borough takes in the town centre and Chalvey, Upton, Cippenham, Langley, Wexham, Britwell and Manor Park. This page is written for the Slough borough area. If you live in Windsor, Eton or Maidenhead, you are in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, and our Thames Valley page explains how we approach the wider area.
We do not operate a clinic in Slough; our physiotherapy appointments are provided in patients' homes. The physiotherapist who visits may live some distance away and travel to you. Whether a visit is possible depends on your exact postcode and on who is available at the time, so please use the postcode checker on this page rather than relying on the name of your street or neighbourhood.
Wexham Park Hospital, on the northern side of the town, is run by Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust and has an emergency department, so many people in Slough will have been treated there. Others are discharged from hospitals in London, Reading or elsewhere. Home Physio And Rehab is an independent service and is not part of the hospital or of the NHS. If you have just come home, keep your discharge letter and any exercise sheets for the first visit, so your physiotherapist can continue what the hospital team started.
Many Slough homes are inter-war and post-war semi-detached and terraced houses, often with a straight staircase, a narrow hallway and a step at the back door into the garden. Some people live in flats in and around the town centre, where lifts and communal entrances are part of every trip outside, and others on larger estates such as Britwell, where the walk to the nearest shops and bus stop may be the first real goal. Your physiotherapist will look at how you manage your own home before deciding what to work on.
Slough is well connected, and getting back to local journeys is often what people want most. That might mean walking to the High Street or the Queensmere and Observatory shopping centres, using the Elizabeth line at Slough, Langley or Burnham, or a gentle walk in Salt Hill Park or Upton Court Park. Goals are agreed with you, practised where it is safe, and reviewed as your strength and confidence return. Our Reading page covers the other main town in our Thames Valley area.
