Physiotherapy Services in Southwold
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Southwold premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Southwold is a small seaside town in East Suffolk, standing on a low rise almost surrounded by water. The sea lies to the east, the River Blyth to the south and Buss Creek to the north.
The white lighthouse, built in 1890, stands among the houses near the centre. Nearby, the Adnams brewery has made beer in the town for well over a century.
The town is unusual for its open greens, left after a fire in 1659 and never rebuilt. They give wide, level spaces that are excellent for gentle walking practice.
The pier, rebuilt in recent decades, is known for its quirky water clock and arcade. Its broad, flat deck is a lovely place to build stamina with a sea view.
Most operations for this coast take place at the James Paget University Hospital in Gorleston. Home physiotherapy then helps you continue recovery in Southwold.
Colourful beach huts line the promenade, which is smooth and level. Clients often aim to walk from the pier to the huts and back.
Southwold Harbour, at the mouth of the Blyth, has fishing huts and a small rowing ferry to Walberswick. Getting on and off that ferry is a cheerful later goal.
Reydon, just north-west, is a larger residential village with bungalows and newer homes. Its streets are gentle and good for short walks.
Walberswick, across the river, is a peaceful village with marshes and a beach. Blythburgh, upriver, has a magnificent medieval church known as the Cathedral of the Marshes.
Wangford and Wrentham are villages inland to the north. Clients there often focus first on safe movement indoors and in the garden.

Specialist home-based rehabilitation to improve movement, strength, balance and independence for people living with neurological conditions.

Helping older adults maintain mobility, strength and independence safely at home.

Safe, structured recovery after surgery to restore strength, mobility and function at home.
