Physiotherapy Services in Swinton
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Swinton premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Swinton is a town in the City of Salford in Greater Manchester, on the main road between Manchester and Bolton. It grew on coal mining and cotton, and its civic heart is Swinton Civic Centre, the former town hall built in the 1930s. The town is also the historic home of the Swinton Lions rugby league club.
The shopping centre at Swinton Square holds most everyday shops, with more along Chorley Road. Victoria Park, beside the civic centre, is level and well used, and the Bridgewater Canal passes through Worsley to the west, with a flat towpath that suits early walking. Clifton Country Park, to the north, has a lake and woodland.
Housing is a mix of Victorian terraces, inter-war semis and post-war estates, plus some tower blocks in Pendlebury. Pendlebury is home to the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital site, now redeveloped, and many Swinton residents have deep family roots in the area.
NHS Greater Manchester Integrated Care Board plans local services. Swinton patients are usually treated at Salford Royal Hospital in Pendleton. Our private home physiotherapy continues the recovery after discharge.
Swinton and Moorside stations have trains to Manchester and Wigan, and buses run along the A6. Patients often want to get to Swinton Square, walk round Victoria Park or travel into Manchester.
The old Swinton Lions ground at Station Road is long gone, but older residents still remember packed match days there with affection. The Wardley Hall, a moated manor house that is now the home of the Roman Catholic Bishop of Salford, stands on the edge of town, and the Worsley Woods beside the M60 give shaded paths for those ready for something rougher. Chorley Road's cafés and the market stalls outside the Swinton Square precinct are a common first independent outing for people who have been housebound for weeks.

Support to improve breathing, endurance and recovery for respiratory and cardiac conditions.

Helping people living with persistent or complex pain improve function and quality of life.
