Physiotherapy Services in Tunbridge Wells
Home Physio And Rehab is based in Harrow, north-west London, and has no clinic or office in Tunbridge Wells. Every appointment is a home visit, and the physiotherapist visiting you may be based elsewhere and travel to your home. Whether we can see you depends on your postcode and on therapist availability at the time you ask.
Royal Tunbridge Wells is a spa town in west Kent, close to the East Sussex border. It grew up around the chalybeate spring at The Pantiles in the seventeenth century, and much of its centre still has Georgian and Regency streets, with Calverley Grounds and the open grassland of The Common close to the shops. Around the town are areas such as St John's, Sherwood, Rusthall, Southborough and Pembury, and the wider borough reaches out to Paddock Wood, Cranbrook and Hawkhurst. These places are context, not a list of addresses we can promise to reach. Coverage varies by postcode and therapist availability, so check yours below.
Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury, on Tonbridge Road, is run by Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust. It opened in 2011, replacing the older Kent and Sussex Hospital in the town centre, and provides emergency and inpatient care, so many people here come home from it after a fall, a fracture or a hospital stay. We are independent of the trust and do not receive your records automatically, so please keep your discharge letter and precautions to share.
Tunbridge Wells is a town of hills, and many homes reflect that: tall Victorian and Regency houses with several floors, front steps and lower-ground kitchens, flats converted from large villas, and newer houses on the edges of town. In the surrounding villages, cottages often have low doorways, steep staircases and uneven garden paths. These are examples only; your physiotherapist works on the stairs, steps and rooms you use day to day.
Outdoor goals here are often about gradients: walking up Mount Pleasant Road into the centre, crossing The Common on its sloping paths, or getting from home to a bus stop or the station. Some people want to stroll along The Pantiles again or manage a shopping trip to Royal Victoria Place. We agree goals with you and build towards them gradually.
