Physiotherapy Services in Maidstone
Home Physio And Rehab is based in Harrow, north-west London, and has no clinic or office in Maidstone. Every appointment is a home visit, and the physiotherapist visiting you may be based elsewhere and travel to your home. Whether we can see you depends on your postcode and on therapist availability at the time you ask.
Maidstone is the county town of Kent, and County Hall, the headquarters of Kent County Council, stands in the town centre. The River Medway runs through the middle of the town, with Week Street, Gabriel's Hill and the High Street on the east bank and Maidstone West station across the river. Around the centre sit residential areas such as Allington, Barming, Penenden Heath, Shepway, Park Wood and Tovil, and beyond them villages including Bearsted, Loose, Coxheath and Boughton Monchelsea. These names describe the town; they are not a list of places we promise to reach. Coverage varies by postcode and therapist availability, so please check your own postcode below.
Maidstone Hospital on Hermitage Lane, on the western side of town near Barming, is run by Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust. People are often discharged from there after a fall, a fracture or a planned operation, and some arrive home with a booklet of exercises and a date for an outpatient review. We are independent of the NHS and do not receive hospital records automatically, so please keep your discharge letter and any precautions from your surgical team to hand. Your physiotherapist will work within them.
Housing in Maidstone changes a lot within a short distance. Victorian and Edwardian terraces near the town centre often have narrow, steep stairs and a step down to a back yard. Estates built in the 1960s and 1970s on the edges of town tend to have gentler stairs but outside steps and sloping paths, and newer developments include flats with lifts and level entrances. These are examples only. Your physiotherapist looks at the stairs, bathroom, doorways and chairs you actually use, because those are the places where strength and confidence matter most.
Once moving around the house feels steadier, goals often move outdoors: walking to a bus stop on the Loose Road or Tonbridge Road, managing the slopes down towards the river, getting to the shops at Fremlin Walk or on Week Street, or walking a short loop in Mote Park. We set those goals with you and build towards them in stages, so each visit has a clear purpose.
If you are already receiving NHS community physiotherapy, tell us and we will plan around it rather than repeat it. If you live further north along the river, towards Rochester or Chatham, the separate Medway page explains how that area is organised.
