Wainfleet All Saints is a small market town on the edge of the Lincolnshire fens, just inland from Skegness. It was once a busy port before the sea retreated and the haven silted up.
Magdalen College School was founded here in 1484 by William Waynflete, Bishop of Winchester, who also founded Magdalen College in Oxford. Its striking red-brick building still stands.
The Market Place has a medieval Buttercross and is surrounded by Georgian houses. It is flat and open, which makes it an easy place for early walking practice.
Batemans Brewery, a family business founded in 1874, is known for its old windmill tower beside the River Steeping. The brewery is a familiar landmark across the flat landscape.
The surrounding land is almost completely level, crossed by drains and dykes. That makes local roads gentle underfoot, though many have no pavements.
Most planned operations for this area are performed at Pilgrim Hospital in Boston or Lincoln County Hospital. Our physiotherapists then visit you at home to keep rehabilitation going.
Many homes are bungalows and cottages, with plenty of single-storey living suited to clients with stair difficulties. We adapt every plan to the home you live in.
Wainfleet St Mary and Wainfleet Bank are scattered settlements along the roads south of the town. Their farmhouses often have long, uneven drives.
Thorpe Fendykes and Irby in the Marsh lie among the fields north-west of the town. Croft sits nearer the coast towards Skegness.
Friskney, to the south, is a long village spread along the main road. The open fens around it are exposed to strong winds from the sea.
Many older residents here live some way from shops and services. Strength and balance work helps them stay safe and independent in their homes.

Rehabilitation of bones, joints, muscles and ligaments following injury, surgery or degenerative change.

Support to improve breathing, endurance and recovery for respiratory and cardiac conditions.

Helping people living with persistent or complex pain improve function and quality of life.
