Physiotherapy Services in Ware
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Ware premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Ware is a historic market town on the River Lea between Hertford and Stanstead Abbotts. For centuries it was a centre for malting, sending barley malt down the river to London breweries, and several converted maltings still stand near the water.
Along the riverbank behind the High Street are a row of eighteenth-century gazebos, small summerhouses built by innkeepers and merchants. They are a much-photographed feature, and the towpath beside them is flat, which suits short walks early in rehabilitation.
The town is famous for the Great Bed of Ware, an enormous carved Elizabethan bed now held by the V&A, with a replica story told at Ware Museum. Scott's Grotto, a decorated network of underground chambers off Scotts Road, is another local curiosity.
Ware Priory, now used for events and council business, has riverside lawns and gardens open to the public. Older housing around Baldock Street and Church Street includes narrow timber-framed cottages, while larger estates stretch up the hill towards Kingshill.
Ware is part of NHS Hertfordshire and West Essex Integrated Care Board. Patients from the area are typically treated at the Lister Hospital in Stevenage or the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow, and we can continue their recovery privately at home afterwards.
Trains on the Hertford East branch stop at the station on Amwell End, close to the river. Many people we see want to get back to the High Street shops, the Saturday market or a stroll along the Lee towards Hertford.
The roads rise steeply from the river towards the north and west of town, so we often work on hill walking and pacing for people who live up towards Kingshill or Fanhams Hall Road.
Villages such as Thundridge, Wadesmill and Wareside have rural lanes without pavements, so building safe car transfers and indoor confidence usually comes first for residents there.

Safe, structured recovery after surgery to restore strength, mobility and function at home.

Expert assessment and treatment of muscle, joint, bone and soft tissue (MSK) conditions at home.

Helping active people recover from sports injuries and safely return to sport and performance.
