Physiotherapy Services in Watchet
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Watchet premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Watchet is a small harbour town on the Somerset coast, facing the Bristol Channel between the Quantock Hills and Exmoor. It has been a port since Saxon times.
Samuel Taylor Coleridge is said to have been inspired here to write The Rime of the Ancient Mariner. A statue of the Mariner stands on the harbour side.
The old harbour is now a marina, with yachts moored behind the stone breakwaters. The Esplanade beside it is level and has views across the water to Wales.
East Quay, a striking arts centre built from shipping containers and concrete, stands on the eastern harbour arm. Its galleries and café are accessible and calm.
The Market House Museum on the Esplanade tells the story of the town's sailors, paper mill and railway. It is a small, quiet indoor outing.
Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton carries out most of the surgery for this part of Somerset. Our physiotherapists then visit you in Watchet to continue your rehabilitation.
The West Somerset Railway, a heritage steam line, stops at Watchet station near the harbour. Many clients set a goal of riding the train again.
The streets rise steeply away from the harbour, and Swain Street climbs towards the old town. We build up to these slopes gradually.
Many homes are old cottages with steep stairs and small yards, along with newer houses on the hill. We plan stair and transfer practice around your home.
Williton, just inland, is a larger village with shops and a community hospital. Doniford has a holiday park and a beach to the east.
Washford lies in the valley near the ruins of Cleeve Abbey. St Decuman's Church stands on the hill above Watchet, with Kentsford and Five Bells close by.
