Physiotherapy Services in Wiveliscombe
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Wiveliscombe premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Wiveliscombe once had its own railway station on the Taunton to Barnstaple line. The route closed in the 1960s, and parts of it now carry footpaths.
Wiveliscombe is a small hillside town in west Somerset, set at the foot of the Brendon Hills on the edge of Exmoor. Locals often shorten its name to Wivey.
The town has a long brewing tradition, and several independent breweries still work here. Old brewery buildings stand close to the centre.
St Andrew's Church, rebuilt in red sandstone in the 1820s, dominates the skyline. Its large churchyard has paths that slope gently.
The Square at the heart of the town is surrounded by old shops, pubs and houses. It tilts with the hillside, giving practice on a slight gradient.
Streets leading out of The Square climb or fall steeply in most directions. We build up to these slopes in carefully planned stages.
Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton carries out most planned surgery for this area. Our physiotherapists then visit you at home so you do not need to travel back.
Many homes are old cottages with steep stairs and low ceilings, along with newer estates on the edges. We adapt every plan to your layout.
Langley Marsh lies just north of the town, a hamlet among fields. Croford and Maundown are small communities close by.
Ford and Chipstable sit in the hills to the west. Waterrow lies down in the Tone valley, with a viaduct and a riverside inn.
Weather in the hills can be wet and windy, so indoor exercises form an important part of every programme here.
Many clients here are farmers or active older adults. We set practical goals for walking, lifting and managing the hills.

Safe, structured recovery after surgery to restore strength, mobility and function at home.

Expert assessment and treatment of muscle, joint, bone and soft tissue (MSK) conditions at home.

Helping active people recover from sports injuries and safely return to sport and performance.
