Physiotherapy Services in Wellington
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Wellington premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Wellington is a Somerset market town near the Devon border, sheltered by the Blackdown Hills to the south. The tall obelisk of the Wellington Monument, raised in honour of the Duke who took his title from the town, stands on the ridge and can be seen for miles around.
Woollen cloth made the town prosperous. Fox Brothers, who supplied the khaki puttees worn by soldiers in the First World War, still weave at Tonedale, and the great mill buildings dominate the western end of Wellington.
Fore Street, High Street and the area around the old town hall form the shopping centre. Wellington Park, a Victorian park with a bandstand and level paths, is a short walk away and an ideal first target for anyone getting back on their feet outdoors.
Wellington falls under NHS Somerset Integrated Care Board. Most hospital treatment takes place at Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton, and the local community hospital provides some rehabilitation. Our private sessions at home can follow on after discharge.
Housing runs from Victorian workers' cottages near the mills to large post-war and modern estates at Rockwell Green and around Longforth Farm. Narrow stairs in older cottages and steps up to raised front doors are frequent obstacles.
Junction 26 of the M5 lies just north, and buses run regularly into Taunton. Many residents make that trip for shopping and appointments, so stepping safely on and off a bus is often worth practising.
The climb up to the monument on the Blackdowns is a steep woodland walk. For keen walkers it is a satisfying long-term goal once strength and balance have come back.

Personalised, evidence-based nutrition and dietetic support delivered in the comfort of your home by an HCPC-registered dietitian.

Specialist home-based rehabilitation to improve movement, strength, balance and independence for people living with neurological conditions.

Helping older adults maintain mobility, strength and independence safely at home.
