Physiotherapy Services in Whitstable
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Whitstable premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Whitstable is a seaside town on the north Kent coast, part of Canterbury district and famous for its oysters, its working harbour and its brightly painted beach huts. The old town around Harbour Street, the High Street and the narrow alleys that lead to the beach is busy and characterful, but pavements can be narrow and uneven.
Tankerton, to the east, sits on higher ground above the beach, with grassy slopes that lead down to the promenade and the Street, a shingle spit that appears at low tide. The slopes are steep, so many people start on the level promenade below and only later practise the climb back up. Seasalter, to the west, is flatter and has many bungalows and chalets.
Housing in Whitstable is a mix of fishermen's cottages and Victorian terraces near the centre, interwar and post-war semis inland, and larger estates around Chestfield and Swalecliffe. Whitstable Castle and its gardens give a pleasant, level walk, and the Crab and Winkle Way runs inland towards Canterbury for those who want a longer challenge. Whitstable station has trains to London and the Kent coast.
Whitstable and Tankerton Hospital offers some community services, while most surgery and emergency care is at the Kent and Canterbury Hospital, the Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother Hospital in Margate or the William Harvey in Ashford. NHS services are planned by the Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board. We work independently, so share your discharge information and we will build on it at home.
