The Swan Inn and the Fir Tree are long-standing landmarks on the High Street. Victorian visitors once stayed nearby to enjoy the pine-scented air.
Bow Brickhill station, close by, also serves the Marston Vale line through the woods.
Woburn Sands is a small town on the south-eastern edge of Milton Keynes, set on the sandy Greensand Ridge. Pine and birch woods surround it on several sides.
The town grew in the nineteenth century after the railway arrived, and many Victorian villas date from that time. It was once a popular place for health walks.
The High Street has independent shops, cafés and pubs. It is fairly level along most of its length, which suits early walking.
Aspley Woods, just south, has a network of paths through pine and heath. Some are sandy and soft, so we choose firmer routes first.
Woburn Sands station is on the Marston Vale line between Bletchley and Bedford. Travelling by train is a goal many clients set.
Milton Keynes University Hospital carries out most planned surgery for this area. Our physiotherapists then visit you at home to continue your rehabilitation.
Many homes are Victorian houses with steep stairs, along with modern estates on the Milton Keynes side. We adapt every plan to your home.
Aspley Guise, next door, is a village with old houses and a church. Bow Brickhill, to the south-west, has a church high on the ridge.
Wavendon and Wavendon Gate lie to the north, with newer estates. Browns Wood and Old Farm Park are modern parts of Milton Keynes.
Paths in the new estates are often smooth and wide, linked by the city's redway network. They make good routes for steady walking.
Many clients here are commuters or active retired people. We plan sessions around daily life and set clear goals.
