Physiotherapy Services in Aylsham
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Aylsham premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Aylsham is a small market town in Broadland, on the River Bure north of Norwich. Its Market Place is lined with Georgian houses and old coaching inns, and the town was one of the first in the country to join the Cittaslow movement, which champions local food and an unhurried pace.
St Michael's church stands just off the square, and the landscape designer Humphry Repton is buried in its churchyard. A farmers' market fills the square each month, and the weekly market brings people in from the surrounding villages.
The Bure Valley Railway, a narrow-gauge line, runs from Aylsham to Wroxham alongside the Bure Valley Path. The path is level and surfaced, which makes it a good place to build stamina once someone is walking comfortably outdoors.
Homes range from old brick cottages and townhouses near the centre to newer estates on the southern edge. Older properties can have tight stairs and steps down into kitchens, which we assess carefully when planning exercise and safety at home.
Aylsham sits within NHS Norfolk and Waveney Integrated Care Board. People from the town are usually treated at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, and after discharge we can continue their rehabilitation privately at home.
Getting to the Market Place shops, the library or a café on Red Lion Street is a typical early goal. The town is compact, so short walks with planned rests can quickly restore a lot of independence.
Blickling Estate, with its Jacobean hall, lake and long woodland walks, is close by. In villages such as Cawston, Marsham and Ingworth, homes are spread out along lanes, so we practise managing uneven verges and gravel paths.
Many people in the area are keen gardeners, and kneeling, bending and getting back up from the ground are often worked into our later sessions.

Assessment and treatment of the pelvic floor to support bladder, bowel and core function.

Supporting people living with or recovering from cancer to rebuild strength and quality of life.

Personalised, evidence-based nutrition and dietetic support delivered in the comfort of your home by an HCPC-registered dietitian.
