Physiotherapy Services in Cromer
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Cromer premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Cromer stands on the cliffs of North Norfolk, its town centre gathered around the tall tower of St Peter and St Paul, the tallest parish church tower in the county. Narrow lanes such as Jetty Street and Garden Street run down from the church towards the seafront.
The pier is home to the Pavilion Theatre, which stages one of the last traditional end-of-the-pier summer shows in the country. The lifeboat station sits at the far end, and the story of coxswain Henry Blogg is told in the museum on the promenade below.
Cromer crab is famous well beyond Norfolk, and the small boats are still hauled up the beach by tractor. Getting down to the beach and back involves ramps and steep gangways, which is why many of our early sessions concentrate on slopes and handrails.
The town is spread across several levels, with Victorian hotels and terraces on the cliff and newer estates out at Suffield Park. Those changes in level matter a great deal after a stroke or joint surgery, so we plan routes that avoid the steepest climbs at first.
Cromer comes under NHS Norfolk and Waveney Integrated Care Board. Most operations and emergency care take place at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, and we can pick up the rehabilitation privately once people are back at home.
The station on the Bittern Line has direct trains to Norwich, and the town has buses along the coast road. A common goal is managing the walk from home to the Church Street shops or to a seat on the pier to watch the sea.
Felbrigg Hall and its woods lie just inland, with walled gardens and long grassy rides. In Overstrand and Northrepps, homes are often on quiet lanes without pavements, so stepping out onto uneven verges is something we practise carefully.
Cold easterly winds can make the clifftop exposed in winter, so we often move practice indoors or to sheltered streets on rougher days and keep the clifftop path for calmer weather.
