Physiotherapy Services in Caldicot
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Caldicot premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Caldicot is a town in south Monmouthshire close to the Severn estuary and the Prince of Wales Bridge. Caldicot Castle, a restored medieval fortress, stands in a large country park on the edge of town.
The Castle Country Park has wide, mostly level paths and open grassland with benches. Walking a lap around the castle walls is a great early aim.
Newport Road and the town centre shops are compact and easy to navigate. Practising a trip to the shops and back builds independence quickly.
Paths along the Severn shore near Sudbrook and Portskewett give longer walks with views of the bridges. The sea wall path is flat but exposed to the wind.
Caldicot is covered by Aneurin Bevan University Health Board, with surgery and emergencies usually at the Grange University Hospital or the Royal Gwent in Newport. Home physiotherapy can follow when you are back home.
Caerwent, nearby, has impressive Roman town walls. Walking along them is a pleasant mid-recovery goal with some steps and uneven ground.
Housing is a mix of post-war estates, modern homes and older houses. We fit exercises to your home.
Indoor exercises are always included for wet days.
Caldicot Leisure Centre on Mill Lane has a pool with steps and a hoist, and many residents return to swimming there after joint surgery. The Nedern Brook wetland beside the castle floods in winter and fills with wading birds, while Caldicot Cross and the Newport Road precinct supply plenty of benches for anyone pacing out their first trips on foot. Sudbrook, by the Severn Tunnel pumping station, is a peaceful village to reach later on.
