Physiotherapy Services in Cardigan
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Cardigan premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Cardigan, or Aberteifi, is a market town in Ceredigion at the mouth of the River Teifi. Cardigan Castle, restored in recent years, hosted the first recorded eisteddfod in 1176.
The High Street and Pendre climb gently from the river, with the Guildhall market at the top. Walking up to the market is a common early goal.
The castle grounds have gardens and paths with views over the Teifi, plus a cafe. They are a pleasant place for practising walking on varied surfaces.
The Teifi Marshes nature reserve, upstream, has boardwalks and paths through reedbeds. These are mostly level and good for longer walks.
Cardigan is in the Hywel Dda University Health Board area, with surgery usually at Glangwili in Carmarthen or Bronglais in Aberystwyth. Home physiotherapy can continue once you are back.
St Dogmaels, across the river, has abbey ruins and a riverside path. The walk across the old bridge and along the river is a pleasant later target.
Homes include Georgian town houses with steep stairs, terraces and bungalows. We adapt exercises to your home.
West Wales weather is often wet, so indoor exercises are always included.
Theatr Mwldan, in the old slaughterhouse building beside the river, hosts films and performances with tiered seating that some people find tricky at first. The Cardigan Bay coast at Gwbert, where dolphins are often spotted from the cliffs, and the slipway at Poppit Sands are favourite later outings. Victoria Gardens, by the bridge, is a small level spot for resting on early walks.

Support to improve breathing, endurance and recovery for respiratory and cardiac conditions.

Helping people living with persistent or complex pain improve function and quality of life.

Specialist care for women through pregnancy, after birth and beyond.
