Physiotherapy Services in Coventry
Home Physio And Rehab is based in Harrow, north-west London, and has no clinic or office in Coventry. Every appointment is a home visit, and the physiotherapist visiting you may be based elsewhere and travel to your home. Whether we can see you depends on your postcode and on therapist availability at the time you ask.
Coventry is a city with its own council and its own character, around twenty miles east of Birmingham. Its medieval centre was largely destroyed in the bombing of November 1940, and the ruins of the old cathedral still stand beside the new Coventry Cathedral, consecrated in 1962. The post-war centre is enclosed by a tight inner ring road, and beyond it are areas such as Earlsdon, Chapelfields, Radford, Foleshill, Stoke, Wyken, Binley, Tile Hill, Canley and Allesley. The University of Warwick sits on the southern edge of the city. These names describe Coventry; they are not a list of places we promise to reach. Coverage varies by postcode and therapist availability, so please check your own postcode below.
University Hospital Coventry, on Clifford Bridge Road at Walsgrave on the eastern side of the city, is run by University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust. It is the area's major trauma centre and also provides specialist stroke care, so many Coventry patients come home from there after a fracture, an operation or a stroke. We are independent of the trust and do not receive hospital records automatically, so please keep your discharge letter and any precautions from your surgical or stroke team to hand.
Coventry's history as a car-making and engineering city shows in its housing. Streets of Victorian and Edwardian terraces in Earlsdon and Chapelfields, some built for watchmakers and factory workers, often have narrow stairs and small back yards. Large estates built from the 1940s to the 1960s, such as Tile Hill, Canley and Willenhall, have more room inside but frequently include outside steps, slopes and blocks of flats. For a lot of people, getting out again also means crossing busy roads near the ring road or managing a bus into the centre, so we can practise those routes too when it is safe. Your physiotherapist plans around your home and your routes, not a standard sheet.
Coventry has its own page because people here usually look for help in Coventry rather than in Birmingham. If you are in Kenilworth, Bedworth or Nuneaton, just outside the city, the checker still works from your full postcode, and Birmingham and Solihull have pages of their own to the west.
