Physiotherapy Services in Solihull
Home Physio And Rehab is based in Harrow, north-west London, and has no clinic or office in Solihull. Every appointment is a home visit, and the physiotherapist visiting you may be based elsewhere and travel to your home. Whether we can see you depends on your postcode and on therapist availability at the time you ask.
Solihull is a metropolitan borough with its own council, separate from Birmingham. It runs from Castle Bromwich, Chelmsley Wood, Kingshurst and Smith's Wood in the north, past Birmingham Airport and the NEC, to the town of Solihull itself, Shirley and Olton in the middle, and then on to Knowle, Dorridge, Hampton-in-Arden, Meriden and Balsall Common in the more rural south and east. Meriden is one of several villages that claim to be the centre of England. These names describe the borough; they are not a list of places we promise to reach. Coverage varies by postcode and therapist availability, so please check your own postcode below.
North and south Solihull are quite different places to recover in. Chelmsley Wood and Kingshurst were built in the 1960s and 1970s to rehouse families from Birmingham and have many low-rise flats, maisonettes and houses with short gardens and communal stairs. Around Solihull town centre, Knowle and Dorridge, homes are more often large semi-detached or detached houses, sometimes with long hallways, several steps at the front door, or a bedroom and bathroom only upstairs. In villages such as Meriden and Balsall Common, the nearest shop or bus may be a fair walk away, which can make getting out again a bigger goal. Your physiotherapist plans around your actual home and routes.
Solihull Hospital on Lode Lane, and Heartlands Hospital in Bordesley Green just over the border in Birmingham, are both run by University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, and many people from the borough are treated at one of them. We are independent of the trust and do not receive hospital records automatically, so please keep your discharge letter and any surgical precautions to hand.
Solihull has its own page because it is not simply an extension of Birmingham: the council, the housing and the distances between villages are different. If you are on the Birmingham side of the border, in Acocks Green, Yardley or Hall Green, the Birmingham page may be more relevant, and the checker works from your full postcode whichever page you use.
