Physiotherapy Services in Didcot
Home Physio And Rehab is based in Harrow, north-west London, and has no clinic or office in Didcot. Every appointment is a home visit, and the physiotherapist who visits you may be based elsewhere and travel to your home. Whether we can see you depends on your postcode and on therapist availability at the time you ask.
Didcot is a town in south Oxfordshire that grew up around its railway junction on the Great Western line. The Didcot Railway Centre preserves steam locomotives beside the station. The power station that once dominated the skyline has been demolished, and the town has grown rapidly with large new housing developments.
Older homes are found near the town centre and in Northbourne. Ladygrove, Great Western Park and Valley Park are newer estates with modern homes, often with compact stairs. Many families have moved to the town for work at the nearby science campuses. We adapt our sessions to the stairs and layout of each home.
Ladygrove has a lake and level paths, and Edmonds Park and the Orchard Centre are close to the shops. Didcot Parkway station has fast trains to London, Oxford and Bristol. Goals often include walking to the town centre, managing the train or walking round Ladygrove lake again, and we plan each in stages.
Hospital care for Didcot is mainly provided in Oxford, with some services at Didcot Community Hospital. We are independent of the NHS, so please share your discharge summary and any precautions. We then design a home programme around your recovery and routine.
The Orchard Centre and Broadway form the main shopping area, and the Cornerstone arts centre hosts shows and classes. The Thames lies to the north, and the Ridgeway runs along the Berkshire Downs to the south. Many residents work at Harwell, at Milton Park or in Oxford and Reading. Typical goals are walking to the shops, reaching the station or a short riverside stroll, set out in small, clear steps. The Didcot Railway Centre keeps Great Western locomotives in a working engine shed, and Ladygrove Loop is a level footpath around the northern estates.
