Physiotherapy Services in Newbury
Home Physio And Rehab is based in Harrow, north-west London, and has no clinic or office in Newbury. Every appointment is a home visit, and the physiotherapist who visits you may be based elsewhere and travel to your home. Whether we can see you depends on your postcode and on therapist availability at the time you ask.
Newbury is a market town in West Berkshire on the River Kennet and the Kennet and Avon Canal. Its centre around Northbrook Street, the Market Place and the Parkway shopping centre is fairly level, and the canal runs right through the town. Newbury Racecourse lies to the east, and the former Greenham Common airbase is now open heathland.
Homes include older terraces and townhouses near the centre and Speenhamland, post-war estates at Clay Hill and Shaw, larger houses at Wash Common and Speen, and newer developments at Greenham and towards Thatcham. We focus our sessions on the stairs, chairs and bathrooms of your home, and the routes you use outdoors.
The canal towpath gives a level walk close to the shops, Victoria Park has paths and a café, and Greenham Common offers wide open walking on flat ground. Newbury station has trains to Reading and London. Goals often include walking into town, along the canal or managing the train again, and we plan each in stages.
West Berkshire Community Hospital at Thatcham provides some local services, and acute care is mainly at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading. We are independent of the NHS, so please share your discharge summary and any precautions when we first talk.
Newbury is a market town in West Berkshire on the River Kennet. Victoria Park, near the centre, has level paths, a lake and a bandstand, and the racecourse lies on the east side of town. Homes include Victorian terraces near the centre, post-war estates at Shaw and Wash Common, and newer houses at Greenham. Clients often want to reach the market or Northbrook Street again, so we set gradual targets. Shaw House, an Elizabethan mansion in its own grounds, and the West Berkshire Museum on the Wharf reflect the town's long history.
